LoadRunner is a software testing tool by Hewlett Packard (HP Software Division). It’s used to test software, measuring system behavior, and performance in load. HP attained LoadRunner as part of its procurement of Mercury Active in 2006, November. HP LoadRunner can simulate thousands of users simultaneously applying application software, saving and later examining essential components of the application’s efficiency. LoadRunner simulates user action by generating messages between program components rather than simulating interactions using the graphical user interface, for example, mouse movements or keypresses. The messages to be made are kept in programs. The programs can be generated by LoadRunner by saving them, for example recording HTTP requests between a client web browser and an application’s web server.
